Srinagar: Chairman Block Development Council (BDC), Handwara Firdous Sofi and several Sarpanchs on Thursday resigned from the position.
BDC and sarpanches decided to resign from the positions alleging the government departments were not taking them in confidence vis-à-vis different works in their areas.

The resignation letter accessed by Good Morning Kashmir reads, “On 24th of September an important meeting of Block Council Handwara under the Chairmanship of BDC Handwara Firdous Ahmed Sofi. The members of the council expressed their displeasure and dissatisfaction over the functioning of the line departments”.
“Since the Council has shown their satisfaction upteem times but of no avail. So the council has unanimously decided to tender their resignation,” reads the letter.
