Unlike issues and concerns that come and go, data privacy on social networking sites remains an ever-important issue for internet users. There are many reasons why people keep using social media even when it’s bad for them, and these reasons vary across individuals and circumstances. Almost two-thirds say they’re concerned about how their data is being used by social media companies, with 3 in 10 saying they are very concerned. There is no running away from this dangerous web, those trolled fall in it like flies to the spider web. It is growing day by day, but at the same time, it is completely unfettered. It has become a kind of boxing ring where you put down the choicest people with slander and abuse. One study found that people keep using social media even though it makes them feel bad because they keep expecting it to make them feel better. When it comes to certain specific dangers of social media, other factors can increase people’s vulnerability. And while these concerns aren’t new, users are growing warier as society becomes increasingly data-driven, and as stories in the media reiterate the worth of personal information.  What dangers of social media do you think of first that teens tend to face? Sexting, predators, cyberbullying. All are damaging, more common than you think, and should be discussed. For social media to expand its footing more,  data privacy is essential. However, we can’t ignore or minimize the more subtle, everyday dangerous things kids are doing online.  Although we jokingly admit that we can’t get enough of Instagram or Facebook, we sometimes don’t realize how much we need to look through our phones to fulfill the little hole inside us. According to a survey by the Royal Society for Public Health in the United Kingdom, social media has been described as more addictive than cigarettes and alcohol. Let us all have a peaceful coexistence on social media, at the same time, the administration must watch for the abusers, the name-callers, and the professional trolls and take punitive action against them.
