Vivek Bali , State President , Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), has made a strong appeal to the Government of India seeking immediate reconsideration of the inclusion of Kashmiri Pandits victims of terrorism and displacement under the NAFSA ration card system.
In his statement, Vivek Bali emphasized that this move risks diluting the distinct identity and long-recognized status of Kashmiri Pandits as internally displaced persons. He noted that their unique circumstances require a dedicated and sensitive administrative framework, rather than subsuming them under a generalized system.
He further stated that all government benefits and entitlements should be streamlined and delivered through the existing Kashmiri Migrant Card system. This mechanism, which already classifies beneficiaries under Relief and Non-Relief categories, is more structured and better equipped to address the specific needs of the displaced community while ensuring transparency and administrative clarity.
Vivek Bali called for an urgent and pragmatic review of the current approach to prevent confusion and hardship among affected families. He expressed hope that the leadership of Prime Minister and Home Minister will take swift and compassionate action to resolve the issue.
He reiterated that the concerns of Kashmiri Pandits must be handled with utmost sensitivity and seriousness, ensuring that their rights, dignity, and long-standing recognition are fully protected.
