The triple editions of “Back to Village” have proved lucrative to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier two editions were launched in June 2019 and completed in November that year and the third edition was held in October 2020. After receiving a valuable response from the rural areas, the LG.admistration has launched one more edition of the Back-to-Village (B2V) programme. This fourth edition is totally different from that of the earlier three editions. Apart from touching on developmental issues, the administration will focus will on digital governance, sports, employment, and other issues. A special area of focus during the fourth phase is drug de-addiction”Nasha Mukt Abhiyan”. The LG administration has directed the authorities to special arrangements for the fourth back to Village programme. The programme is aimed at empowering Panchayats and directing development efforts in rural areas through interaction. It will also focus on Panchayati Raj i.e the functioning of Patwaris, Village level workers, and availability of officers in Panchayats. It will also pay attention to the functioning of schools, Youth Clubs and the generation of employment in villages. LG Manoj Sinha lavishly inaugurated the “Back to the village programme, which is meant to directly connect government officers with the villagers. It is to build a deep bond among the people of the UT and the Government. It also provides a sense of empowerment to the villagers. A broad programme which aims at reaching out to people and taking the initiative of development of villages of Jammu & Kashmir. The beauty of “Back to Village” is that the Government officials and functionaries eagerly meet and interact with the people in rural areas and take their suggestions related to health, roads, electricity, water, schools etc. After knowing all the problems, the Government officials solve them as soon as possible. This helps the functionaries to create schemes and plans for village development in the near future. Lt Guv said that he has set a target of turning 50,000 youngsters including males, female into entrepreneurs which will help them earn their livelihood. Compared to the past Governments, the current administration is putting more efforts into rapid development in the valley. The Governance of LG administration has proved fruitful to the people of the valley. The idea of ‘Back to Village’ is to work on developmental issues and make Jammu Kashmir a progressive union territory
