Continuing its mission to foster a healthy and drug-free society, Awami-E-Tehreek (AET) organized a large-scale anti-drug awareness program at Government Higher Secondary School, Manjakote, under the leadership of its President, Waqar H. Bhatti.
The program witnessed the presence of several key administrative and police officials as Guests of Honor, including Tehsildar Manjakote Imsha Khalid, Naib Tehsildar Manjakote Jawad Parihar, BMO Manjakote Dr. Saleem Ahmed Bhatti, and a Sub-Inspector from Police Station Manjakote.
Keynote addresses were delivered by Tehsildar Imsha Khalid, BMO Dr. Saleem Ahmed Bhatti, and Awami-E-Tehreek President Waqar H. Bhatti, who educated students and staff on the devastating impact of drug abuse and the urgent need for a drug-free environment.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhatti welcomed the government’s ongoing 100-day drug-free Jammu & Kashmir campaign and made a crucial appeal to Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to extend the drive to the grassroots level.
“Our organization, Awami-E-Tehreek, is continuously visiting villages and schools to create awareness among the young generation so that our children stay away from drugs, alcohol, and all other evils. I urge LG Sahib and Chief Minister Abdullah Sahib to take this campaign to every school and every village so that the coming generations can benefit,” Bhatti said.
He further stressed that in today’s modern era, children and youth must be drawn more toward education and sports. He called upon the administration to develop rural sports infrastructure and stadiums, enabling positive channelization of youth energy.
The school management and local officials extended their gratitude to Waqar H. Bhatti and Awami-E-Tehreek for organizing the impactful event. The program concluded with a solemn pledge by all attendees to completely reject drugs.
