Srinagar: After a brief exchange of gunfire on Tuesday afternoon, militants seem to sneak out of a cordon laid by the security forces here in Anantnag district of South Kashmir.
The operation took place in Marhama village of the district where the militants attacked a patrol party at about aftrernoon on Tuesday.

A senior police official from Anantnag district said no further contact could be established with the militants despite rigorous searches in the area, after the initial exchange of fire. Adding that the search operation in the area is going on.
