Srinagar: Number of Junior Engineers, having AMICE degrees, working in Public Works Department (PWD) and R&B departments of Jammu and Kashmir UT alleged that they are running from pillar to post to get promotions since 2012 till date and files are pending for disposal of the same.
In a statement Issued here, the aggrieved AMICE degree civil holders said they are finding their future in dilemma due to governments apathy.
“The department has already accepted/enlisted the degrees of about 10 Junior Engineers of same institute, also in year 2015 two candidates have been appointed by the department, who were selected through SSB,” they said. Adding that one fails to understand how the degrees of same institute are valid for some junior engineers and others are denied by the same department.

According to these degree holders, the department is clearly saying that the degrees acquired by them are not maintainable and is not covered under existing rules of the department.
They further said that the files are pending for disposal of the same for last many years but nothing has been done in this regard so far.
Meanwhile, the degree (AMICE) holders urged Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha to intervene in the issue, and direct concerned authority to come up with permanent solution of the matter.
