The residents of the area have expressed resentment against the executing agency- Jammu Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation Limited (JKPCC) – for failing to complete its construction for the past five years.

“With no bridge to cross the nallah, it has badly affected the education of children. Children have to walk over wooden planks placed over the nallah to reach the other side,” said Manzoor Ahmad Wani, a local resident of the village.

The local residents told Good Morning Kashmir that the solo bridge which would connect the village with other areas is pending for almost five years. “People are compelled to travel by foot over a crumbling wooden footbridge to reach their respective destinations,” locals said.

Zahoor Ahmad Teli, another local said they are being forced to cross the Nallah in absence of any bridge while during rainy season, it is very dangerous to step in the foot in the stream.

“We have orchards, agricultural fields, and other day-to-day works on the other side of the stream but in the absence of bridge we most of the times fear for our lives by crossing this through temporary means when the water level of Nallah exceeds,” they said.

“We brought the issue in the notice of concerned authorities several times but to no avail,” they added.

People of the area have appealed the Lt Governor administration to start the construction of the bridge as. soon as possible
