New Delhi: Attorney General KK Venugopal on Tuesday informed the Supreme Court (SC) Bench hearing the contempt petition in the restoration of 4G internet in Jammu and Kashmir matter that the Special Committee was of of the considered view that the situation in Jammu & Kashmir is still not conducive to restore internet Services of 4G .
AG submitted that one district in Jammu and one in Kashmir could get 4G internet on trial basis after Aug 15.

AG submitted that the special committee held a meeting on August 10 and it has considered the situation prevalent in Jammu and Kashmir and concerns of security of nation, reported Live Law.
“The committee has also stated that High speed internet could be restored in certain area with strict monitoring. The area should have low threshold of terrorist activities”, submitted AG.
Justice Reddy now reading out its own order of May 11.
Says the special committee is to assist the regular committee. We have not overruled Anuradha Bhasin.
Ahmadi: Thats not how I have understood it. However, the order should be in public domain.
Ahmadi: Today, if i have to challenge the order, how will I do so. Let them place it on record. Let them place one.
AG: I don’t know what hes talking about. If hes talking about the Statutory orders, they are in public domain.
Justice Ramana : Contempt is closed. How many days you need to reply to the IA? A week. Grants two weeks to file reply.
Ahmadi : Today is a good day. A step forward has been taken.
ORDER:
The aspect of contempt has been closed with no objection by Petitioner in light of the staggered restoration of 4G in certain areas
Respondents to file a reply on (2 weeks)-
1) orders of review committee in public domain;
2) review of internet restoration every 5 days.
