3814 fined,192 arrested for Covid lockdown violations

Jammu and Kashmir police have enhanced their efforts to make sure Covid-19 lockdown guidelines are strictly followed throughout the valley.

During the last 24 hours, J&K police has arrested 192 persons, lodged FIRs against 91 people, for violating the Covid-19 guidelines imposed throughout the Kashmir valley.

“During the last 24 hours, police arrested 192 people, lodged 91 FIRs and also realized fine to the tune of Rs 4,35,050 from 3814 people in the valley for violating the various guidelines/rules/SOPs regarding Covid-19,” said a police spokesperson.

He said the special drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines/rules continued throughout all the districts of Kashmir Valley to ensure that people adhere to SOPs/guidelines envisaged by government to curb COVID-19 pandemic.

To ensure strict implementation of Covid-19 curfew and adherence to guidelines issued by the government in view of Covid-19 pandemic, senior police officials are continuously visiting markets and various checkpoints at different locations.

The J&K police appealed to the community members to cooperate in containing the spread of coronavirus by following the Covid-19 protocols. The special drive by the J&K police will continue throughout the districts of Kashmir valley to ensure that people adhere to SOPs issued by government to curb Covid-19 cases.
